Catch Traps in useWhen it comes to monitoring Traps & Devices, visits made out of hours and during peak production times can often be difficult to arrange on commercial premises and it is often better to leave monitoring traps or devices in place to assess possible pest activity.

Some traps catch and kill pests whilst others catch and hold them alive. Which trap is appropriate will depend upon the pest.

Multiple Catch Traps are used for vertebrate pests where humaneness is of greater significance. In these traps the pest is confined alive. It is particularly important that multiple catch traps are inspected at least once every 24 hours to avoid causing the animals unnecessary suffering.

Sometimes monitoring traps are used as a control measure as well as to prove the presence of pests in a particular area. However this is not their prime purpose.
